The Christmas Videos…and a happy new year!

It was a truly wonderful Christmas here this year – very relaxed, simple and calm – full of laughter and quietly precious family moments…. and an awful lot of (though I say it myself) fabulous food!  As is now an annual tradition,  Beth made a family video as our Christmas card, and  I just wanted…

Hello again!

It’s been a while… but it feels like a good time for a catch up! I was telling a friend about how much I loved writing my blog – reflecting on where I am and what I’m doing with my life… and I realised with astonishment that I last updated more than two years ago!…

6 months later!

Hello again – I can’t believe I’ve managed to let 6 months pass without a word! Finally there are pauses in the mayhem, and I thought I’d treat myself to a moment’s catch up! So 2012 – turning out to be a rather splendid year for all of us! I’ve been teaching my socks off!…

Five Decades of Happy Marriage and Five observations on how they do it!

Last weekend the whole family travelled to England to celebrate Mum and Dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a magical, touching family gathering at the Grand Hotel overlooking the bay in Swanage. …and the sun shone on our parade! We were twenty-one in all: Mum and Dad, four daughters, husbands, partners, and eleven children… Married…

A portrait of Beth – daughter, songwriter, photographer

Last Saturday was such a beautiful day … Beth and I decided to go for a walk with our cameras. I’d love to say that this was something that often happens, but I have to confess that it tends to take a guest or two to actually get us out into our stunning surrounding countryside.…
